Driving lights behind the grill questions
Hey to those with the lights behind the grill (couldn't find the old post) I was wondering is there a heat problem with them shining through the grill?? Is there certain lights I need to stay away from or anything like that?? I'm looking at adding this mod, and or just some marker type lights to shine in there, but I don't want to melt the grill.
Also I was wondering if there is a "centralized" power block to send ALL the wires too for any extra lights I may want to add later on down the line i.e. regular driving lights in the lower bumper, xtra back-up lights, the Recon light kits for the cab and bed mounted lights then wire it to the battery. I just don't want to hot wire them ALL straight to the battery. Thanks H- |
the lights behind the grill are fine. it doesnt heat the grill or anything. I havent had any problems with them...

You won't melt your grill with the lights. Get yourself a set of Hella 500's off of eBay for $40 and go for it, you will like them.

Cool will look into the ones off of Ebay
How about the "centralized" power block to send ALL the wires too for any extra lights I may want to add later on down the line. Don't want to just hook them to the battery |
Hey found some on Amazon.com for 39.99 too

Theres no central power block but there isnt much that will use it.. Most recon lights will just wire into existing lights or harnesses on your truck.. and the fog lights in your bumper might have the harness just hanging on the drivers side in your bumper for power.. The hellas or any other offroad lights will be all you have to wire to the battery.. You can always buy aux fuse blocks to run all your offroad lights to then one wire to your battery.. thats what I use on my old 4x4

I cant seem to find the original thread with the DIY information on the in grill lights installation. I looked through the faq's section , does anyone have the link to that thread? I could just be a complete moron ( entirely possible ) and overlooking it.
