V 10 info, where's it at?

I've done a couple of searchs as well as looking through the sub forums and can't find any info on the Dodge V 10.

Can somebody tell me where to look?

Anybody know what was the last year Dodge made the V 10?

Any info on the V10 as far as reliability and power?

The last year the 8.0L V10 went into a ram was the 03 2500s. Check the 2nd Gen Ram section, there were not many 03 V10s made and I don't believe anyone on the forum owns one, but there are a few V10 owners in 2nd Gen.

That doesn't list the power & torque rating but I believe it was 300 hp 450 tq. It will also give you around 8 mpgs.

Hey Thefist I had dreams of doing a V-10 swap, but have become a Diesel fan lately with the Biofuel growing. Plus there is a guy here in Ga that did a diesel swap into a Ram 1500 and claims to have got almost 45 MPG with Bio and Hydro fuel mix.

I did have a 2nd gen 2500 with a V-10 and I got almost 15 mpg if I kept my foot out of it and 17-19 on the highway after a synthetic oil change and adding a tonneau cover. Great power and could pull anything.

Which V10 are you talking about? The Viper motors found in the 510Hp Ram SRT or the 310 Hp magnum?

No more diesels for me. I don't tow anything heavy enough to make it worth all the hassle with the egr's, injectors and turbo's going bad. Don't tow anything heavy enough to deal with the 4 gallon oil changes and the ridiculously stupid higher cost of diesel fuel over gasoline.

I only tow about 6K pounds max and I'll just let the little ol half tons do it for the time being.

I was talking about the V10 magnum in the trucks. I may be looking at v10 or hemi dodge or v10 Ford in the future.

I did a little research on the V10 magnum when I was looking at trucks, because there was a nice 03 2500 with the V10 at a good price. I found out why there isn't much of a market for V10 performance: the head design was so poor that you can't hardly make them flow well. I would imagine that with the proper work, that 8.0L could be an absolute monster of an engine, but the cost would be too high.

SRT10 from 04-06 in the 1500 series Ram.
