New Tires ---

For those of us who choose to keep the OEM tire .. I have to ... I tow a camper with me Mega Cab.

Michelin LTX A/S 265/70/17 $720 to my door. With the $70 Michelin rebate, Comes to $650 to my door .. to get em mounted, I ll grab new stems at autozone for a buck a piece then bring them to the mexican dudes at the local flea market who charge about twelve bucks a tire to mount and balance .. then all Ill need to do is the alignment ...

go to www.discounttire.com

when asked to enter a zip, enter the zip for Burlington, nc. 27215
search by size
filter by load range "E"
they will come up as $180 a piece.

Go to www.discounttiredirect.com
Look up the same tires. They will be listed as $197.

Call in your order to 1-800-707-8473 and pressing #1 for the Sales Dept.
Tell them you want it for the same price as the Burlington Store.

$180 a piece isnt bad, in fact I couldnt find them anywhere cheaper .. then slap that $70 bean rebate .... good deal ... Especially being that the first quote I got was $1020 plus tax, disposal and labor to mount ..

Just because you tow a camper doesn't mean you need to put the stock junk back on?

http://www.treadepot.com/tirelist.html

^^^ They show as a 285 being stock width. Anyhow a 265/70/17 in Toyo Open Country HT 10ply is only $667 to my door and are much better than those Michelins.

Of course they aren't good. they come stock on your truck!
Here's a link to show you where they rate at. Ohh, one more thing....Those are HIGHWAY tires, so the lovely rating that they get in Tirerack amongst thousands of reviews gives them a ranking of 30. Not among the rest of the tires, just the tires in that class! Now how many could that be?
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....odel=LTX+A%2FS
Here's the overall comparison of all Highway All seasons
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...y.jsp?type=HAS
Don't hurt your neck when you have to look so far down!.....lol They are ranked 30 so look for that number on the left. bout half way down.

Toyo's. They are very good, but I have Cooper Zeon LTZ's which they do make a tire in your size in 10ply. My Coopers make zero noise and go through standing puddles of water like it's dry pavement. really, the best Pavement tire i have ever owned. Not so much for the offraoding crowd, but they still dig in the dirt very well, just not thick clay mud, but then again, what A/T tire would do that well. You would need a M/T design for that.

Found some in your size http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-265...lenotsupported

I dont know, man .. maybe Im confused .. I dont see Toyo listed on the Tire Rack comparison link you sent .... I also used the "Which of these tires are available in my size?" link to turn on those models available in my size ... the Cooper Zeon LTZ are a cross between Sport and all Terrain. My truck is only used on Highway surfaces .... generally speaking. I guess I should have been more specific .... and said which All Season Radial 10 ply would you run other than the Michelins.

In addition, I read the review for the first listed, first page of reviews for the General Grabbers HT's filtering for Dodge and then the same for the Michelin LTX A/S .... not a single grade below 9.x for the Michelin .. A few below 9 for the Grabbers. I think I noted only one or two reviews mentioning towing of any kind.

At an rate ... tires are a personal preference .... just like oil .. anyone who like the Michelins should jump on the Discount Tire thing ... its a good deal.

I've had good service out of Michelins in the past; currently running Pirelli's. Toyos and Coops are excellent too.
From an interest viewpoint: The most exotic ' stock street machine' uses a Michelin and that would be the Bugatti Veyron - cost is of little concern.

I'm not saying Michelin doesn't make good tires. Just the fact that he bought Highway ribbed. That's all. But apparently he does all highway, so no worries.
