Default Is the overhead MPG readout accurate?

Has anyone tested the overhead MPG read out compared to the actual gallons of fuel to the distance traveled by the odometer? Is it pretty close?

I don't think mine is accurate. It always starts to average out then i gotta keep resetting it, unless i'm doing it wrong. I gotta try it on my next full tank.

it does average. if you want to know right at the minute you have to reset it and watch.

Mine is off by about 1.5 mpg on the avg eco. the odometer is right but you should manually check it at fill up. also if you watch the eco setting it will tell you the current as you go mpg

hahahaha, super hightech wing, freakin rock-n-roll man!!!

My overhead is usually right on. You have to let it run throughout the whole tank, and make sure to reset it everytime you fuel up. Even if you dont put in a full tank. I havent calculated mine for a few tanks, but I usually do when I go on long trips. Ive always been within .3 of the overhead display.

my comp has been very close, prolly off by .1 - .3. If you have tires that are any size different than stock and its not calibrated then it should be off but other than that all the dodge trucks my family has owned are usually pretty close with the overhead display too.
