Someone TRIED breaking into my truck..
So I'm taking my truck to get it washed today and i get out to dry it and i notice a dent on my driver side door and i'm wondering how the hell it could get it such a spot because it was right underneath my door handle...after looking at it a little more, i noticed that someone definitely took a flat head screw driver and tried prying my door lock off. I'm not sure when or where it happened but it had to have been in the past couple days because i would have noticed something like that on my truck, i'm thinking either last night at work if anything.
SO....i was wondering if there is anything you guys use to help protect your truck from such incidents. ONLY my driver side has the keyhole slot for my key entry the passenger doesn't, if i'm trying to enter through the passenger side i am required to use my key fob. Is there a way to make our stock alarms very sensitive? Can you purchase a door handle that doesnt have a keylock for the driverside? and if so, can someone still pry under it and bust the lock off to gain entry? If they actually successfully broke into my truck, the most they could have taken was my stereo and air bags i guess....i have a Laramie and i believe they are equipped with a chip in the key that you have to have in order to start the vehicle, does anyone know if its possible to bypass that through hotwire/breaking the ignition out? Any help/suggestions i would be very thankful for! |
i would get an aftermarket alarm...but if you want to keep the stock one might try this

As far as any security goes whether it be for your house, a company, or a car, the best thing you can have is something visual that stops people from even trying.
For your home it would be like an ADT sign in your front lawn. At a company a security officer that walks by every once in a while. For your car? A security alarm sticker in the window corners and a little blinking red light by the lock nub. |
You need those Jimmy Jammers, an aftermarket alarm, a big dog and a bear trap and a big gun with laser sights and a hi-cap clip.

Here's the one for our trucks
