Default Can't get a good alignment!

When I purchased my 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 4x4 new from the dealer I had them crank the torsion bars 2" to level it out. Since then the passenger side tires have been wearing prematurely on the outside of the tire. I've had three alignments from the dealer since then and each time they tell me that there is nothing they can do about the premature wear because the truck is lifted. Anyone else hear that and is it really true?

Yup, sounds like a load of crap to me. I leveled mine and the shop had no problem getting it aligned. The only issue that could potentialy still cause wear on the outside shoulder of your tire is if you ran out of room in the slot for your upper control arm to slide...not likely though unless you got under there and buried the adjuster bolts

I would try takin git to a 4 wheel drive specialty shop. In my experience they are more willing to make adjustments and fix the issue than your regular high volume garage.

They may have fixed it and you dont know. Once a tire starts to wear in an odd pattern thats the way it will cont to wear because that part is already worn off . rotate the tires and keep a eye on the pattern if it starts to wear the same your correct they cant aling the car for crap. Did you ask for a copy of the aligment? you have to ask for it when the write up the truck to make sure you get one even if it was warrr they can make 2 copies And they have to have a printed out copy for warr

I had the same problem. I took it to one shop and had it aligned hoping that it would alieveate (sp?) the positive camber. It didn't... Then I took it to the dodge dealership here after I saw the adjusterbolt on the upper A arm. They did the same thing. I took it back again and they said if I wanted the camber to be right then it would pull...
