Drew, what gears does your truck have in it?

Ive got 4.10's just like your old chevy. there nice for pulling power, but kills my top end. I kinda wish Dodge had a 3.55 rear end for the cummins. even though at 70 the engine would only be turning 17-1800 rpm, it was still in the power band. my 4.10's make my engine rev to just under 2300 at 70. Ive been looking at a GearVenders overdrive set for my truck and with the way fuel prices are it wouldnt take long to recover the $2800 cost. My little yoda has had it's fair share of pulling up bushes as well. but I had to get somewhat of a running start since the engine only makes 140hp and 160tq and the entire truck weighs in at only a measly 4200 pounds. my dodge pulls in at about 2x that
the 3.55's were for the old 12v engines and early 24 valve mechanical pump engines. they didnt like to be wound out as much as the newer 24v HPCR engines which carry the 3.73's and 4.10's. 3200 rpm is all these engines can manage before you start to do damage. 3200 is a normal shifting point on my yoda[8D]

the diff is larger on the 2/3500 trucks to handle the extra load.
the 2/3500's have a 11.5 and 12.5 inch pumpkin, the 1500's have a 9 inch and some might even have the 11.5 but I'm unsure of that. as far as price to change out the gears I'm unsure of what is a good going rate.

Well I was paying for my OEM foglight kit that I got from a dealership off Ebay and asked him about the Liberty intake piece and I got it from him for 20 buck and he shiped it right along with the foglights. I installed everthing the other day...
The intake piece is a perfect fit. The end at the filterbox thats alil work to get on(I cheated and used alil bit of handsoap to get it on.) Looks great and I have noticed a slight change in the sound coming from the engine bay. Now I just have to remove the mounts for that box that was there.
The fog lights work great also. A lot more light now. I wired that up to the battery so that I can turn them on whenever I want. The hardest part about those was getting the wires throught the firewall...darn rubber garment.
Next up finish wiring in my alarm/keyless entry :-)

I built my own exhaust setup...i'll post pics when i can but i used a Hooker Aero Chamer muffler. Sounds and pulls like a v8 now. A buddy has an 02 R/C S/B and i keep up with him in torque...i lack a little in upper end but it still pulls. I pull about 4200 lbs every weekend and have absolutely no prob.

RE: new 3.7 owner
I bought my first Dodge Ram truck back in Feb. It's a 2002 1500 3.7L 5 speed. i've put on flowmaster 40 series single in dual out dumped about 2 foot in front of rear axle. K&N FIPK Intake, 1" throttle body spacer and just recently A Stage 2 perfromance module from Jet Chips. I also added more aggresive tires for my trips out to the country. I love it!!! The truck moves like a V-8. I couldn't be happier with it. Also depending on how I drive, I get roughly 25 mpg on the highway. About 5 mpg increase from stock. After the module upgrade I noticed a very nice increase pick-up when I get on the gas. I'm hooked now, I'll be a Dodge Ram man till the day I die! I'm interested in other perfromance upgrade advice y'all might have. I'll be happy to share advice if you run into problem or questions about your truck as well
