35" m/t's on 06 1500 4x4 with leveling kit.. problems??
Ok heres the deal.. I have a 06 1500 Sport QC SB 4x4... I am planning to put 35" tires on my truck I understand they will rub on the stock height but if I have a 2.5" front leveling kit and a 2" rear block lift should I be ok? im either going with Pro Comp Xtreme M/T or Mickey Thompason Baja MTZ Radials mabey even Dick Cepek Mud Country.. My next question is I am keeping my stock 20" rims.. will it fit on the tires (12"+ I think wide).. and/or will it fit on the truck without wheel spacers? any input at all will help me a lot thanks.

Nope. Im in the same boat as you. They rub in the front against the control arm. So I just purchased wheel spacers that didnt fit. So im thinking about buying new rims.

Unlike the '02-'05 torsion bar front trucks, which will just make it with 12.5" wide tires on the stock wheels, the '06+ coil overs seem to have just a tad less room in there. You'll need spacers or even better a wheel with a proper backspacing and offset.
As far as the tires, 35's will fit in the wheel well with just a level and will be fine if you are pretty much doing this for the look, but if you intend to wheel at all, you'll wish you had a LOT more room for articulation. If you intend to do any off-roading, you'll be much better off either going with at least a 4" suspension lift or a 3" body lift/level kit combination. If you are limited to only doing a level, then stick to 33" tires. You'll not only perform better but get better gas mileage and put less wear on front end components... |
