Dodge ram 1500 5.7lt won't idle

I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 5.7 lt that will not idle. It won't start unless u press on the gas. I had the check engine light checked and the codes pointed to the O2 sensors. I replaced the front two sensors but still no luck. I don't live close enough to a town that can check the codes for me that I can drive the truck too. My question is will the O2 sensor prevent the truck from starting? Is there something else the will make the O2 sensors to not work right? Also when the truck is on the exhast smells really lean. I have 90,000 miles on the truck

HELP!!!!
I love my truck

well the o2 sensors will make it run lean because they control how much fuel is entered into the combustion chamber, you can take back the front 2 sensors and get the back sensors and see if that clears things up, those things are like 80 a peice right??

I would look for a vacuum leak first. I'm not sure if your truck has drive by wire or not but if it doesn't I would check the iac and see if its working right. But a vacuum leak may cause lean 02 codes and will make the fuel trims very high.

The rear 02's shouldn't have much if any control over fuel trims.

I checked for a vacuum leak but could not find any. Also here is the IAC located at? I'm going to check that next.

no iac on 5.7 drive by wire, check for p0404, egr code, it fixed my problem and was only 22 bucks on ebay with free shipping, and 30 min fix
