Speaker replacement q's?

I just had a kenwood deck installed on my 05 quadcab, it has the 7-speaker infinity system. They did away with the factory amp and rewired all the speakers. I plan on replacing all my speakers and I'm curious as to what yall are using. I dont know much when it comes to speakers and such so any help would be appreciated.

polk and infinity both make good aftermarket speakers at a fair price. I personally have polk in the rear and rockfords in the front of my reg. cab.

Any other suggestion's? Will full range all the way around sound good or do I have to get components?

i love my alpine type-r componets. i had the 6.5 up front and in the rear but my brothe blew his speakers so i sold him my rear set. i have the pdx amp pushing them and they sound amazing. i can turn my HU all the way up w/ no distortion. i will replace the rear later i want to get subs right now and i know thw front will more than keep up with thems

You won't get near the power or sound output using aftermarket speakers without an amplifier. even a 50wx4 HU isn't enough power. A HU labeled for 50w realistically puts out only 40ish (50 will never be hit) and only 20-25rms.
I'd say you'll be close to where you started with the factory Inifinity set-up.
You'll want to get an amplifier that can produce minimum 50wrms, but more like 100wrms

For separates, Boston Acoustics is very good....the Pro series....very clean with a good amp. Check out www.crutchfield.com for sizes on your truck.

Im using Kickers in my doors and my subs as well.

Kickers are good for the bass - I used to have some and loved them. I had Kicker subs and Boston components - sounded really good until I totaled that truck!

I dont have subs yet, but I have JL's in my doors and the bass and sound quality just from them alone is alot better than stock. I am still trying to figure out what set-up for subs would be best, especially which box I should use since mines a quad cab and I dont want to lose the back seat.
