Default transmission cooler leak

so today i noticed a very small leak in the trany cooler right where the pipe goes in. like a drip or 2 in the morning

1. How much will this cost
2. should i change it quick or do i have a bit of time.
3. I don't do any heavy hauling so could i by pass the cooler untill i can get a new one?
4. if i do it my self is transmission oil gonna pour out of the cooler or will most of the fluid drain back in to the tranny?

edit: its the power steering cooler

your best bet is going to be to just get a new cooler as mentioned already. they are fairly inexpensive, and are not hard to change. if you do any hauling or racing, you might as well get a bigger one.

if you wait until the fluid/trans are completely cooled down, only the fluid in the cooler is going to leak out more or less. just zip tie them to an elevated position, and you will be fine.

I had the same issue, and was quoted ALOT of money by a tranny shop to fix it and service the tranny. just short of $400.00!! So I bought new (10,000lb rated) cooler, fluid and filter at O'Rielys for about $100.00 and did it myself! I ended up with a MUCH better cooler than the factory low flow and the cooler the better for ALL tranny's!!!

the cooler in the middle of the radiator is your tranny. the one on the bottom should be for the power steering. I replaced the top one, and mine was twice the size of yours.
