Default Lamp Out?

Last week after I finally got around to replacing the dead HID ballast and installing the HIDs back in my truck I noticed that the lamp out light has been on ever since. I've looked over the entire truck and there are no lights out. I even disconnected the battery terminals to see if it just needed to be rebooted. Any thoughts what could be causing the light to come on if there isn't any lights out?

you didn't have the lamp out light before? I thought there was some kind of capacitor or resistor needed to keep the lamp out indicator from kicking on? Someone with more info will chime in I'm sure but here's a free bump .

Hmm maybe when I took the old ballast out I took the capacitor with it. My brother installed them originally so I don't even know what it looks like or where it would be.

That very well may be whats up, I know from everything I've read on here about HID's though there was either a capacitor or resistor needed to make the lamp out indicator go away.
