Default 4.7 noise

hi i have a 2005 dodge ram with the 4.7 and i have a noise on cold start up but gets quieter when the engine warms can anyone tell me what this is and describe what it sounds like if i have and exhaust manifold leak

If it was an exhaust manifold leak I don't think it would go away as the engine got warmer. It would help us greatly if you could describe to us what the noise sounds like.

can anyone describe what an exhaust manifold leak sounds like and if it raises with rpms

Well I would be willing to bet that an exhaust manifold leak sounds like an exhaust leak. And since more exhaust is created at higher RPMs, then yes, it would get louder as the RPMs increase.

If you think you have an exhaust leak at the manifolds then go out there and check the bolts to make sure all are tight and none are broken. Then you will know for sure.
