Did you reboot the PCM?

Mega-Hemi May 22, 2010 06:07 PM

Take it for a drive and let it run through a full cycle.

RubberFrog May 22, 2010 06:32 PM

X2. Go put some miles on it and let it learn the new air.

Thanks guys, ran it around and was get lean codes on both banks and that seems resolved, but occasionally the lightening bolt with the two bars lights up and idle becomes rough...turning the truck off then on resolves this with no code being thrown. I did remove and reinstall the TB plate (butterfly) and maybe I screwed up my TB?

I would definately look at that TB closely. Why did you have to take the butterfly out to begin with? Taking the throttle body off to clean the back of the butterfly is common practice without romoving the butterfly.

Yea that lightening bolt is for the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system and it indicates that there is a problem, which explains the rough idle. It could be a problem w/ the TB or some other part of the ETC system.

Did you physically rotate the blade in the TB open when you were working with it?

BG724 May 24, 2010 01:51 AM

Duroc…I took the blade out to clean the thoroughly clean the edges of the blade.

Off_Road_Teacher…Yes I did physically rotate the blade and took it out to clean the edges.

The truck is not throwing any codes, but it does sometimes light the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) steady and not flashing…this seems to happen sporadically when coming to a stop light or sign, not every time I come to a stop…I then shut the motor down wait a second or two and then restart and everything returns to normal…I think this may be a reason to upgrade to a new Fastman TB…

If you took it off was there an adjustmant on it? You threw something off, also just for sh*ts and giggles make sure the Mass Air Flow sencor is installed correctly, if you touched the elemant with bare fingers the oil from your fingers will screw with idle air mixtures, the PCM thinks its not getting air then thinks to much.
