I just got pulled over and i have a tint ticket now... and i have a court date on tuesda.. the question i have is do i take it off and i wont get the 250 dollar fine or should i leave it on and pay the fine... i have my windsheild and all tinted so if i take it off im gonna be going 5 all the way around and 15 on my windshield any advice guys? just dont want to waste my money if im gonna have to pay both the fine and get it retinted..

 

if you're gonna get it retinted, pay the fine. the tint costs more than the ticket. keep in mind as long as you have the tint, you might keep getting tickets

you pay the fine they let you go. you take the tint off they let you go. no difference

If you gotta pull all 5 windows off that would suck. I had to pull my 2 front windows off to get my ticket written off. Once I did put the tint back on. Cost was $20 to remove and $55 to put new on. I figure that's not bad since I went 2.5 years with the tint before ticketed. Now I'm going on 3 years and no ticket yet...knock on wood.

Not exactly sure what they do here in Cali, but I was told basically what AF said. But for me the fine would have been much more than what I did. Plus got a newer better tint put on that more closely matched the factory smoked glass on the back 3.

 

I would say take off the front 2 windows and tell the judge everything else was stock. Tell them all you did was tint the front 2 and they should let you go. Then just go get the front 2 windows retinted, which will be a lot cheaper than the ticket. How dark did they say your windows were? They did test them right?

 

Yeah theres no reason to tell them you did or did not remove it. If they're that nosey, just tell em you've scheduled an appointment for it.
