Mounting driving lights
I just got mt Hella 500FF kit, and am contemplating mounting them inside the grill. Anybody have any pics on how you installed them?
Thanks much! -Chris |
Everyone installs them on the crossmember that runs across the front.....
I did four on mine but here is a pic of my setup: http://www.ponypartiestogo.com/images/Dodge/hella6.jpg |
I measured the same length away from the sides for both lights and drilled a hole. I think it was about 11 inches from the left and right.

You have a few options. Inside the grill (which is perfect with thin profile lights like the Hella 500s). Putting them on a grill guard or bull bar or buying a light bar for the front or top.
I have them on my grill guard on my truck: Attachment 82305 Drilled a couple holes in the fairlead on my portable winch mount: http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...530001246b.jpg and made my own light bar for my Jeep: http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...1/100_0138.jpg http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...1/100_0139.jpg |
