Removal of tpms

Any one figure out how to remove this damn system or disable it?

You can have a dealer disable it through the use of a Starscan tool, but most won't even agree since there are certain laws in place that restrict them from doing so. I'm not sure what the restrictons are, but anything safety that comes equip on a vehicle from the factory, the dealer is not suppose to alter. Also, not sure what the laws are as of now, but i read last year that the Fed Gov't was going to mandate that TPMS need to be in EVERY car sold in the U.S., so not sure if that's something that has passed or not? Seems like every car I have looked at '09+ has TPMS even the 'el cheapo cars.
There is a fuse that controls them in the Ram, but there are a few other items that the fuse controls(don't remember what and I'm too lazy to go out to my truck and look in the owners manual). I would imagine that even pulling a fuse would cause the tire monitor light to illuminate on the dash. I don't see any side effects of running with the dash light constantly illuminated, but I have heard some TIPM related problems with indicator lights. Like the TIPM disables the circuit if it senses re-occurring problem on that ciruit and let me tell you this...I am getting my TIPM replaced tomorrow because of some electrical problem of a similar nature and all together it's costing me $650. Not worth the hassle to just wonder if. Keep the proper tire pressure and you'll be fine.

Just move the sensors. That's what I did for my Mazda.

If you have a superchips flashpaq 3865 or plan on getting one. There is a free upgradeable option to turn the tpms off. It also clearly states it is for off road use only

I'll have to look into that badblack as I have both.;-)
Thanks for sharing.
I should know what my stuff does but I'm too lazy I guess..lol

Yeah I was also going to suggest SC.

But MikeNTally has a point also. It would keep the light on in the dash though. If you do this be sure to keep the sensors as they are not cheap.

Build a box, put your sensors in it, fill it with air, chuck it in the glove box or under the seat.

i think i might just do the SC idea
