Rocker arm problem

All I can tell you is that it has worked for me. Set-up is a real challenge, and a little time consuming. Although, not nearly as long as removing a valve cover to correct the rocker arm problem. If you are using conventional motor oil, you will have sludge forming inside the engine, due to design, there is excessive heat in between the center cylinders causing the sludge to form. I would suggest that you first use engine oil flush and replace the oil with a good synthetic oil and add some BG upper cylinder additive. If you go to airram.com, just check it out for yourself.

Hey guys, Does anyone here have a suggestion or answer as to why my engine turns over hard after an engine swap with same motor 4.7 from an 03 to 02 both auto trans. everything went together like a glove.. motor ran beautiful before swap. all plug and play matched except one on the intake which was recovered from 02 intake. Is the timing out due to swap with unhooking everything...any ideas would be greatly appreciated as i need the truck on the road yesterday. thanks

Unfortunately, lash adjusters go bad and when they do, they don't pump up and don't allow proper pressure on the "roller follower" (or rocker as some called it). If the adjusters are good and your throwing followers, then the cams are probably "walking". Remove all followers and check for end play. Sorry, don't know what end play spec is. This assumes the timing chains aren't stretched.

Yall need to maintain your vehicles. 172,000 miles and the engine runs like new here.

Sometimes, maintenance has nothing to do with it.

Yea maintenance isn't always it. My 4.7 just ate **** at 75k being babied the entire time. Oil changes every 3k with premium synthetic and premium filter. No overheats no nothing. Tow driver even said "wow this is the cleanest truck of this age I've ever seen! You must really take care of it". Just my luck lol

Broken rocker arms on my 04 4.7 Dodge

I have a 04 dodge 1500 4.7. I installed two heads and when I start it , 50 seconds later I can hear how the rocker arms break. I installed a second one and the same happens. It was torqued by specs instructions and I have no clue what's going on. Any thoughts about this strange situation?
