Oil film in hemi hat also on air filter and position of throttle body valve
I just took my filter out and hemi hat off to change plugs. Was also going to clean the throttle body while I am at it.
I noticed I had a bit of oil on the filter right above where the crank case vent comes in to the air box. Also there is a thin film of oil in the hemi hat that is coating the inside. It looks like my truck has been cycle oil vapor out the crank vent and back in to the motor intake.
Is this normal?
Also, so the butterfly valve in the throttle body be completely right angle to the inside? Mine is sitting at a slight angle...
Here is the oil film, this is the connection to the throttle body, you can see the curve of the film.
Here is the TB itself.

Thanks guys, everyone has been a big help here. I managed to change my plugs tonight, just finished. Wasn't that hard at all, just time consuming. I found the hardest to change on the passenger left side just because of the angle. I actually didnt need a flexible knuckle at all. Just used two small 3/8" extensions and a regular rachet for all of the them.
Also pulled the TB off tonight, ill clean it tomorrow morning, hopefully wont take too long and i will bolt it all back on.

When i took my Hemi hat off and Throttle body and added the new intake tube, i was happy at how clean the inside of the hat and tube were as well as the front of the Throttle body. I can run my fingers along the inside of the Hemi Hat and they come out clean. The inside of the Throttle body and intake manifold was a mess, but everything ahead of it was spotless.
I did this at 100k miles. So i guess not all trucks are sucking much oil through the induction.
