Weatherstrip damage by door... poor design!
I washed the new Ram we got a couple of months ago and noticed that both door weather strips are damaged (torn) where the door drags over them in the front!
GOOD GRIEF, this isn't "rocket science!" How long have we had weatherstrip and how long have we known the affect of abrasion on it? And, it's the end of the model run, not the first.
However, the last thing I want is the ham-fisted "techs" at the dealer ripping these off to install new ones just like them.
Take a look at yours, where the front door edge transitions from vertical to diagonal...
If yours are like mine, I suggest you tell Chrysler what you think about it.

Me too...I was soooo pissed when I noticed. I guess I'll replace it if it becomes a problem. I don't show my truck off too much but, I don't people to see that. Your right...they should of known it would happen. I'll tell the dealer next time I get my oil changed.

My drivers side is torn bad. There is a TSB for this. If the dealer orders the correct seals according to the TSB the door won't rub on the seal. Some have had problems with their dealers ordering the original seal instead of the replacement. Might be worth taking in the TSB.

About what I expected. Thanks for the follow-up all.
Btw, mine is an '05 and it's still a problem. Maybe the new strips, if an '05 running change aren't the answer either. Had I know about this I'd have lubed them where they rub with silicone grease and might have avoided the issue... or not.
I suppose at some point I'll have to deal with replacements by my so called "service" department. Yuck!!!
Keep your rubbers intact!
Anyone have the part numbers for the new seals, since I don't see them on the bulletin?
