Silverstar's anyone?
I'd heard a lot of good things about the Silverstars and happened to see the fogs and headlight packs while browsing around an auto parts store. I bought them and replaced one side during my lunch hour. I drove around for a few days and nights with stock on the driver side and Silverstars on the passenger. The Silverstars are much whiter which I liked, but there wasn't a whole lot of difference in forward light output in terms of distance on the blacktop. It did seem to light up reflective signs from further away though. There was more light output to the side of the vehicle (I drove up and down an alleyway one night comparing what I could see).
Would I buy Silverstars to replace perfectly good stock bulbs again. Probably not. It wasn't worth the money to me. Would I buy them if I had a burned out stock bulb. Probably. I did like the whiter light. We'll see how long they end up lasting. I'm one of those dorks that drives with his fogs on all the time. If they fail in an unreasonably short period of time, I still have my good stock bulbs to replace them with.

I'm going to bring this back up because I put the Nokyas in my truck and didn't like them. They had a great color to them but I could hardly see them on the road. They lit up the road the same color as the road. I could mostly just see where my foglights were. They were bad enough I took them back to the store I got them from.
I now have some Nokya Arctic Purples in my Accord. When I first put them in they looked great and were a pinkish purple and lit up the ground and all purple but looked really good maybe not as bright as stock but looked really nice. After about a week they started losing their color and now are just a bright white with a little hint of purple to them. They light up the ground white like super whites do. I wasn't super impressed here.
I have tried several sets of bulbs and if you want a nice looking bulb that you can still see okay with I'd go with the high wattage Farenheits or Eurolite Fusions/Crystals. I couldn't tell a difference between the Crystals and Fusions when I tired them both.
If you put a high wattage bulb in be sure to upgrade the harness and watch out to make sure it doesn't melt the actual headlight housing. If you put these in do it at your own risk.
If you want vision instead of look I'd stay with the stock headlights or go HID and do a retrofit. There have been several articles on how the high wattage xenon bulbs are worse than stock.
There don't seem to be as many companys that make bulbs like that nowadays now that the ricer scene seems to have died down.

I have had both Nokya's and Silverstars, like both. Silverstars ane not as bright, but they are whiter, and you can run to any parts store and get em.
Nokya's are brighter, bluer, but you gotta order em.

How in the world can you all say Nokya's are brighter? Looking at the actual light or the package they look brighter but they didn't light up the road for crap. I've not had the silverstars to compare to but I was pretty unhappy with the Nokya's. I could see more with the stock foglights than I could the Nokyas. I've tried several sets and color wise the Nokyas were the best but vision wise they were the worst.
