Dome light too short!

Default Dome light too short!

Hi I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 and the dome light is super short. Is there any way to extend hte time that is stays on?

The O/M will provide info. Mine is an '03 - not as fancy as the later ones. Not sure I can change it.

FaithPerrin,

With the 2006 Ram 1500, extending the time of the dome light is not a programmable feature. I'm sorry my reply could not be more favourable but I hope this helps answer your question.

Common issue with 2006. I read here somewhere that all you can do is disconnect the battery for a min. and it should reset to its orig time

That works sometimes...

What you can also do is put in a weather proof relay along with a diode and tap in power to keep it on a little longer... but that's your call if you wanna take it that far.

You'll have to make sure that the Relay won't trip before the power from the regular wiring from the truck turns off, which is why you might need 2 relays and get fancy with the wiring, but it's very possible.

Just don't forget Diodes, b/c you do not want to back-feed to your TIPM or anywhere else for that matter.

Just a thought.
