I have a click noise coming from my truck. It is more prominent when I take a turn, but it also does it randomly when my truck is turned off, and when my truck is in idle. When its up to speed I don't hear it. It almost like the click you hear when your cat. converter is cooling down, but it is also clicking when I make turns, and loud click/ping type noise when I turn it off after being driving. Its confusing the hell out of me. Thanks.

 

does it sound like its coming from the steering wheel area?

 

you sure its not just the exhaust cooling down? is it a random click of consistant click?
does it matter what temperature the truck is at? Were does it sound like its comming from?
Does it do it if the truck is loaded down?

 

Yeah I think the 2 clicking noises are unrelated. I listened to it last night, I think the clicking while its sitting is actually just the exhaust cooling down or heating up while sitting. But there is still a very prominent clicking noise while turning. It almost sounds like a stick stuck in bike spokes, or almost like a loud socket wrench when turning. Honestly its hard to tell where its coming from, its not coming from the steering wheel area, you can only really hear it if I roll down my window or stand outside. I think its coming from under the front wheel well area. I noticed my tie rod boot was leaking grease, but I was told its probably my wheel bearing. Any experience with bad wheel bearings?
