help with a check engine light code?
OK, so I have been having issue's with my check engine light coming on after having a new transmission installed in an 06 dodge ram 2500 auto/hemi
Started other tread on this, but since I now have a code number, started it here this way
at my local auto parts store, it would NOT give me a number code, but said 02 sensor issue's
I reset by disconecting battery last time
and now an getting these two codes first I gather is from me disconecting my battery
code # P1684 (batt was disconected)
and then second code is
P0420 catalyst efficency (bank 1)
can anyone tell me what side bank 1 is and if its before or after my cat, as I have 4 02 sensors
my area is emmision controled for state inspections,a nd its a fail if the CEL is on , and my sticker is due to be replaced in Aug
so I need to solve ths
OLD 02's are about 2 yrs old and about 30k or less on them
so there not all that old??
but I know that doesn't really matter, things can go at any time
Thanks, appreciate the help

This is why I said it was important to get a code. While P0420 may be a bad O2 sensor, the fact that you just replaced them leads me to believe it is more likely a failed Cat. If you want to read up on that code, here is a good read:
