Default How to prime oil pump without priming tool?

Hey guys how would I go about priming my new reman 5.7 without the priming tool? Should I pack the pump with grease or lube? I’m not sure at all on this procedure especially without the tool.

It says "new reman 5.7" and as this the 3rd gen section.....regardless, even if it was an even newer (09+) 5.7, the oil pump is still driven off the crank, i.e you can't use some tool to spin the oil pump like an old small block. At minimum, plant the pedal to the floor (disables the injectors) and turn the key to spin it. For insurance you can pull the fuse for the fuel pump. If you want to get fancy (and spend $$ on something you'll only use once), you can get an oil tank with pump, pull one of the pipe plugs by the filter (prefilling the filter with oil is also good practice all the time unless the mounting doesn't allow for it) and tap in to pressurize the system that way.

thanks for the reply, makes me feel
a little better about it. The shop I work at has an electric fluid pump we are going to try to get some oil pumped through the taps that way just to be safe
