WTF suspension question
So for the past year or so, I have noticed that my truck ('05 QC 4X2) was riding rough. I figured it was time for some new shocks (about 86k miles) so I crawled under it today to see how bad a job it would be and noticed something. The rubber bump stop on the front that mounts to the frame and bumps the bottom of the lower A-arm had such a small clearance that I could not get my finger between the bump stop and the A-arm. Is this normal? It would seem to me that every time I hit a minor bump, that the bump stop would impact the A-arm and thereby cause a rough ride. What should the clearance be between the bump stop and the A-arm?

Is yours 4x4 or no

No, as I said in my original post, its a 4X2.

You buy it new? If not wonder if prior owner lowered? Broken spring? There should be some rake between front and rear. Is it excessive?

Shocks deal with ride. It is possible the shocks are gone and the spring is trying to make up for it. shocks are not terribly expensive, I would start there.

4x2 have very little up travel.

My SRT-10 had maybe .5" before it touched the stops.

150-200 I would check into Monroe reflex. About $45.00 each. You could even do just the fronts for now.
