Cool 4-wheel dash lite

have an 04' ram 1500 hemi. 4-wheel lite doesn't come on, not sure if lamp is bad or switch not being made. have looked on case but don't see it.......where is the switch?

Get underneath the truck and find where the linkage is for the 4WD shifter. It connects to a rod held on by two hard plastic grommets, and above that is the switch. Check the conditions of the grommets. If they are deteriorated (or missing) you will get slop and the linkage will not fully mate the switch.

My suggestion is to simply replace both grommets and the switch. It’s a cheap fix.

Forgot to mention: turn key on and check dash. If the 4WD lamp illuminates, the problem is what I mentioned above. If it does not illuminate, it’s the lamp.

The switch is located above the rod. Look for a wire harness and it will lead you to the switch.
