I am interested to see if anyone who got one has experience "higher" gas mileage as Dodge has been claming on their new 06 MDS Hemi.
Also, List what model/color/options you got, I still havent decieded yet color and options!

I've had my 06 for about 2 weeks now. I absolutely love mine. I didn't think I would like it more than my 05 that was totalled, but all the improvements have made a great truck closer to perfection. The gas mileage issue will be debated for a long time. I don't have a lead foot, nor do I attach a helium balloon to it either. I would say I drive the 06 as close to identical to the 05 as possible and I'm seeing about 2-3 GPM better with the 06. I have only 551 miles on the 06, so that figure could be inconclusive. The overhead trip computer on the 05 could only count to 15.8, but the 06 has learned the number 18.7. The truck reads about 1.5 GPM over actual calculation. The 05 and 06 are equipped with the same rear end gear ratio, both 4X4, and both QC. On to options list, I ordered this truck through a dealership directly from Dodge (Even the window sticker says "This vehicle was built especially for ME!"

I got the 2006 RAM 1500 Quad SPORT with the Hemi 5.7 and I have to tell you that I am very happy. Gas mileage is far better than the 5.9L Magnum which I had in my Durango 2001 SLT PLUS. Right now I am at 14.3 Mpg and I have not been light on the gas pedal in the city. I liked the Atlantic Blue Color. The 20" rims are not the best but will do until I can make a change. The sound system is not as good as what was in the Durango but again that is no biggie. Other than that the truck handles very well and its amazing how quiet and smooth it is in the cab while riding the pot-hole riddled roads of Clearwater, Florida

I just purchased a 2006 Quad Cab Ram 1500 (2wd) with the Big Horn Package. I got the hemi of course. We are getting ready to take a cross country trip and needed a nice big truck and the bench seats on the Ram were the biggest I could find. We had been driving a 2002 Escape and it is unbelievable how much more room there is.
I think I got a great deal. I paid the invoice price (29500) plus got $5K in rebates.
The truck comes with
Premium bench seats
Tow Package
20 inch chrome clad wheels/P275/60R/BSW All season tires
power adjustable pedals
fog lamps
Sirius radio
and tons more
Cannot hardly wait to take this baby to Vegas for road trip even with the high price of gas
and tons more

i had a 2004 dodge 1500 sport with the HEMi,,, the truck had alot of power,, to bad it was in the shop more than i was able to drive it. I live in Clovis NM and i purchased my RAM from BENDER!!! Boy was that a huge mistake. I had my tuck in the shop 17 times and i only owned the truck for 18 months
the only problem with the new mexico lemon law is it has to be in there 4 times for the same problem within the first year of owning the vehicle. the last 4 times it was in the shop was for the rear end. after they had the truck for 2 1/2 weeks, then 1 1/2 weeks, then another 2 weeks and couldnt correct the problem i couldnt deal with it anymore and traded it in. I had problems with the CRUISE CONTROL twice, WINDOW MOTOR, AIRCONDITIONER, BAD FUEL INJECTOR, RATTLING NOISE IN THE DASH, ( 4 TIMES), FRONT END VIBRATION ( RACK AND PINION)< and last but not least the rear end. DO NOT BUY DODGE, they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help me out!!!!!!! NEITHER DID the BENDER DEALERSHIP!!!

Why are you posting this in a thread where your information regarding your 2004 Ram is completely irrelevant? I have no problem with you voicing your opinion on how bad you may think Dodge is and how bad Bender is and everything else. But when you post it when there is no relevance, I just don't see how you are contributing to the discussion at hand. This is not an isolated incident, either.
Just under 10k miles on mine. Mileage is pretty good, over 18 on the highway, but under 13 (over 12) in the city. Lots of power, I've used it to haul over 1k lbs of hay in the bed a few times, the hemi hardly noticed it in there and I still had suspension [sm=smiley16.gif] Haven't towed anything yet. Truck set up is:
4x4
Quadcab
5.7 Hemi MDS
3.92 ratio
Mineral Grey (a little different from the regular grey, I like this color a lot)
545 tranny
I like this truck a lot
P.S. does anyone know how often we're supposed to be changing our fluids (I know RTFM) like differential, transfer case, tranny etc.??
