Identifying the Torque Converter 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 QC 4x4 5-45RFE
This is a two-part question: I'm trying to find the OEM part number for the torque converter but getting a slurry of conflicting and useless responses using google.

Rock Auto shows MOPAR R4736587AD @ $265.79 for 2005 1500 4wd. If you pull your’s out of the Transmission it will be stamped or stickers on the side facing the transmission. You can also go to Mopar overstock website or any of the other online Mopar parts website and input all your vechicle info and it will give you a list of replacement TC’s |
I just went out to the garage and checked my original bad TC and it’s stickered with R4736587AC. It was replaced at the dealership under warranty back in 2009. Mopar R4736587AC (Refurbished) translated to Mopar original # of 04736587AA / AB / AC |

Do a search for ‘’ 545rfe torque converter” They seem to have two flavors available. Low stall and medium stall, i believe our trucks use the low stall. I have a few emails out to them to see if they will supply approximate stall speeds. Prices go 130-180 free shipping. |
Look for a transmission parts seller in your area. They will sell for about $150. We sell Precision part # 5450LS or 5453LS. And also TC Remanufacturing part #520AA. The shipping is what's going to kill you. So look local also look online and see if there is a Transtar distributor in you area they have there own which use to be Dacco converters but Dacco is out of business now. Transtars converter are called Recon but I don't have part numbers. We are located in Northern NJ

Thanks for the input. I found an Amazon supplier, Torco. They're pretty economical and price includes shipping. I will check local shops also. The chains want $500!

Ebay has them as well for 129.00 w/ free shipping. I did email them as well and they stated low stall for for 2005 Dodge Ram. info from them:LOW STALL IS ABOUT 1800-2000 MED IS ABOUT 2000-2400 |
