Chasing ghosts

Update, now have gone through 3 TPS in six months and have a cylinder 3 misfire that happens right before the sensor goes out. All 16 lifters we're replaced but not values. We have switched things from cylinder to cylinder but 3 keeps misfiring. Could my TPS problems be from the misfires, I have a mechanical throttle body.

Currently have a 2004 Dodge ram 1500 with a 4.7L motor in it. Need some help hunting down my ghost, both lifters was replaced but was extremely dirty, even though the new lifters now tick as well, when started on a cold start. Replaced the TPS sensor, map sensor, fuel sensor, and the fuel pump. Truck sits in a rough idle at all times and keeps kicking out a code p0303. Don't know where my ghost is can anyone help?

Pull the spark plug on #3 and take a look.

Yep, plug #3 is good place to start.
Can you tell us what you mean by "both lifters was replaced but was extremely dirty, even though the new lifters now tick as well." Specifically, what lifters did you replace and why? Are you assuming your tick is caused by lifter(s)?

Try switching the coil pack or ignition wire to another cylinder. Same thing with the spark plug, So #1 move the coil too and #5 move the spark plug too. Does the misfire stay on number 3? If it doesn't move to another cylinder. Do a dry and wet compression test on the cylinder. If you replace the lifters, What about the rockers? Could also be a camshaft starting to go flat.

Both sides were done, but after we replaced the left side there is a constant tick that comes from that side

You sure you don’t have a bent pushrod? Did you soak lifters in oil before install?

There are 16 lifters... did you only replace a few? What brand lifters did you use?

4.7 doesn't have pushrods.
