Disconnect the cable down at the trans. Move the shifter, does the cable move? (might need a second warm body for this.....)

We did try that and it moves freely when disconnected I've also tried the override under the steering wheel but the lever won't budge underneath for me to move it to neutral, at least trying to get it in neutral so I can start it.

Drop the pan, and see what's buggered up.

Can you manually shift the lever on trans with cable disconnected? I’ve replaced many trannys and while it’s in air when I need to spin driveshaft to get all bolts I pop off the shift cable and move lever by hand to neutral, then back to park when I’m done and pop cable back on….so you should be able to shift by hand, if not something internal is bad

I finally dropped the transmission pan normal amount of metal shavings and nothing I can see wrong there.

Looking at it, may need to drop the valve body to get a better look at it. Can you shift the trans by hand, AT the trans, with the rear wheels off the ground?

Okay I dropped the valve body I think everything looks okay I'd assume my next option may be taking the valace body apart.

Does the linkage move easily?? Really not much to it, is there?

Lustyfam Sep 13, 2022 05:18 PM

It moves freely now, which I know it was getting caught with the valve body on I could hear it clicking when I was trying to shift it.
