08 ram 1500 4.7L transfer case actuator spindle won't move.
So I'm trying to change the actuator motor on my transfer case in a 08 dodge ram 1500 4.7l and when I got the old motor off and tried getting the new one on it wouldn't line up with the spindle. So I tried turning the spindle and it wouldn't turn. So now I'm at a loss on what to do.

Ah, yeah, that can be fun to turn by hand.....
What range is the t-case set in? Pretty sure there is some specific install procedure..... Jacking up the rear might make shifting the t-case easier. |

This is why I REALLY dislike the electronic shift t-case. :D
Can you turn the entire motor assembly to get it to align on the shaft, then twist it to get the mounting bolts to line up? |
No it won't turn far enough unfortunately I tried.

Not sure what things look like under there..... I am sure there is not a lot of room to play.... Is there enough of the shaft sticking out you could grab it with vice grips? Or something similar? (that won't damage the shaft?)

How about connecting the electrcal connector and try to adjust the motor position?
Please let us know if this helps and what you end up doing to get her back on the trails! Cheers |
