Dodge typically underrates thier trucks, mostly for liability reasons.

If you are to tow that weight I suggest you make sure it is loaded properly and have good tires on your truck and with proper inflation. Also make sure you have trailer brakes that are hooked up to a e-brake controller in the cab. Sway bars might be benefitial also. I guess it all depends on how the package is set up. I'm neither saying yes or no to the question if "I" think you should tow that trailer as it is ultimately up to you.

Forgot to mention, I don't think that the truck chassis itself can't handle it;), it is just the 4.7L that might struggle a little up long steep grades. Also, with the 3.92 gearing, I think you should just leave the gears alone. If anything, drop down to the 17"s with factory size 265/75/17LT tires (assuming you have the 20's now) if you are that concerned with towing and needing a gear swap.

cool thanks i thought about going to 17 inch wheels. Would that increase gearing a little compared to 20s? because of the diamater size? and yes i plan on doing a good set of sway bars and waching how i distribute the weight . the trailer is going to have 4 wheel elec brakes too wish i could get some one with 17s to trade me for my 20s. also would i have to have the computer adjusted with the 17s?

Why don't you hook everything up and see how the truck handles the load before dumping the 20's.

By putting on smaller over all diameter tire and wheel package, you do (in essence) have a higher (numerical) gearing.
