Default Rusty Axle tried something new

I was under the truck today and noticed my rear axle was begining to show some rust.

I forgot to take pics before I started and now it is dark.

Any who I went to the autoparts store to get some rubberized undercoating when I saw this stuff.

Dupli-Color Rust Fix, so I bought it instead to see if it works as advertised.

It got dark on me and you are posta wait 24 hours to paint over it anyway. I'll be painting it Friday I'll try to remember to take some pics...

Anyone else use this stuff successfully?

Loctite has made a similar product now for many years - works very well.

I use it all the time, works best on light surface rust. It'll turn the rust black and bare steel bluish. Just make sure you top coat it.

I'm gonna try that stuff. My rear axle is fine, but my drive shaft looks like a handrail off the Titanic.....[:@]

Ok here are some pics.
I forgot to take before pics...Oops

The stuff didn't really turn the rust black but I rekon it killed it. Then I did the sand & paint the next day.

when you first got the truck didn't you get it under coated to prevent the rust from apearring in the first place its not that expensive.
