Traded from 20's to 17's

Ok so I traded away my 20's with 25k on the tires and got the aluminum 17's with 20k on the rubber. Went and bought some tires from Discount Tire Direct.

Originally ordered the Nitto Terra Grapplers in the 295 70 17's and then called them back and told them to stop that order and send the Hankook Dynapro MTRT03's in the 285 70 17's. Want a little more agressive tread than the Nittos. Well.....DTD sent the Nittos yesterday and now the Hankooks are going to be here Monday. I will have to send one set back to them and they said they would pay the shipping charges as it was their mistake.

Does anyone have any knowledge of the Hankooks? I live in Minnesota and we do get some snow and I live in the city I work in so I dont do a TON of road driving often. I am pumped for the Hankooks to get here so I can put them next to the truck and see what I think. Heres a link to the Hankooks. http://www.hankooktireusa.com/produc...ail.asp?pid=22

Heres the Nittos, not like you guys havent seen these before.... http://nittotire.com/tires_terragrappler.asp

Thoughts? Opinions? What to do what to do....

Personally I like the look of the Nittos myself. The Hankooks look like they may be a little noisy. I would wait and check them both out first before I sent anything back.

Yeah, they look like they may hum a little but I do alot of hunting and end up thrashing around a bit in the crud during the fall/winter months. The 20's left me using 4X4 alot when my friends were still having no problem with theirs still in 2WD. I love the look of the Nittos as well but fear they may be just a tad wide for the sloppy stuff on the streets come winter. Not that theres a ton of difference between 295's and 285's but with the deep lugs, it may not be so bad. Will see when I get em. Thanks for the input tho. Will be my first time with anything as aggressive as the Hankooks if I do. Have run with some other good tires on my other trucks but not like that.

Its funny as Im reading this the guy that lives down the street just drove by. He has a Early 90's Ford F350 with 40 inch Thornbirds on it and the funny thing is you cant even hear it running all you hear is the hum of the tires and its LOUD. He lives about a 1/4 mile away and I can hear him close to a 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile away. I have to drive my truck everyday with my family in it. Im thinking Nittos for my truck.

Nittos are nice! I don't have alot of knowledge of the Hankooks though. Toyo puts out an aggressive and sharp AT. I have them on my 02. Toyo Open Country AT's 285/70/17

I had Toyo Open Country A/Ts 265/70/16s on my last truck, 2000 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. They didn't seem like they lasted very long but I did a lot of highway driving. They were a nice looking, great performing tire.
