Heater fan not working. I'M COLD HELP!!!!!!
My 2004 Ram quad cab (107,000 miles) has been having problems with the heater fan cutting out occasionaly but today it quit all together. The only way I can stay warm is to crack a window to relieve cab pressure and go no slower than 50 MPH. I can still switch to different vent modes OK. Also today the heated seats quit working and by the way those are not factory installed, so I assume the dealer could have wired the seats into the same circuit as the fan. And yes I changed the fuse just to be on the safe side although I couldn't tell if it was bad or not for sure.
The fan started working again today. I noticed that it starts and stops as I move the steering column. So what I am wondering now is how difficult is it to take the steering column apart.
did you happen to find out why it was doing that cause i think mine is the same. i got into the truck and start it then move the colum down and didnt notice that the fan had stopped, till i got out to drop off some mail and when i got back into the truck it was all cooled off inside. when i went to take off again colum went down and fan went off. any help thanks.
Loose wire possibly, or a dead spot in the blower motor. A lot of newer chrysler vehicles use the instrument cluster as a center for their bus (temp controls, radio, lots of other stuff), so you may have a loose connection. I'd check the connections first, that sounds like the best solution from the info you gave. A bad relay is also a possibility, although I would think the dealer would have probably wired into one of your 12v sources (lighter, power point) for your seats.
