what's everyone doing for exhaust?
i've got an 07 4.7 "big horn" and although the stock exhaust isn't too bad, i'm looking for something a touch more throaty. i was just going to take the muffler off, and replace it with a pipe, but it's a 3" pipe and for me to bend that, would be a bugger. any aftermarket replacement kits out there? or what is everyone using? normally i'm not on a budget, but this truck, i promised the wife, would remain stock. as my 97 s10 is bagged and body dropped, she made me promise if i got another truck, i wouldn't touch it, lol....anyone have any opinions? (on the exhaust situation, not the wife)

RE: what's everyone doing for exhaust?
I had a FLowmaster 50 series SUV muffler put on mine. Sounds good and it isn't too loud. I kept the resonator and had a stainless tip added so it looks and sounds much better for about $200.

I had a catback dual exhaust installed by Master Muffler (they do madrel bends) using the Dynoflow muffler and 3" stainless steel tips. Cost about $400. It's is pretty loud and has a resonance tone around town, but on the highway it's OK. May go to a quieter one though. Get's a little anoying around town, which is mostly the type of driving I do.

RE: what's everyone doing for exhaust?
I'm going to have an electric cutout installed right after the cat on my stock exhaust, so it can be super quiet or super loud.

RE: what's everyone doing for exhaust?
I had a Flowmaster 40 Series installed and had custom dual pipes bent around the spare tire area. The total cost was about $350, but that includes $120 for stainless Magnaflow tips. $230 for the muffler and the custom job done at the garage I took it to. It sounds bad-ass. It's not too bad at an idle, but when you get on it you can really notice. I get tons of compliments everywhere I go. You'll love it!
