RE: 2006 V6 6spd MPG
And for hopping the motor up, I have not found anyone who makes anything good for us at this time I tryed intake and aftermarket exhaust did not do much the muffler I ended up putting a stock type muffler back on to get back the backpressure the motor need to get some tourqe out ofit it a IMCO brand sound like a V-8 with out so much cab noise like a turbo muffler gives you ( Magaflow I hear it good on a V-8 but on this little under power V-6 you foot is in it so much It was to loud to drive the family around in the Plus side I had a hard time hearing my wife talking my ear off about nothing thatconcerned us I dont not cared what Opra thinks).
Also running a Jet chip Stage 1.
I think it helps but you read diffrent driver sayNo but it has more off the line and more up at HWY speeds it not a fast truck just gives it about 5 to 10 more HP up on top..
Put some lower gears in it at least it will not be so lazy.

Go to some lower gear like 3.92 or 4'10's also what size O/D tires are you planning to be running makes a big deal on which gear you should use as for me When my tires wear out I planning to go with 31.46 inch tall tires so the best gear for me is going to be 4.10.
You want to be turnning around 2000 Rpm's at 60 MPH in top gear to get the most out of you'r truck is the rule of thumb.
I was under the imprestion for a long time lower the RPM's better MPG you get I was misinformed to low of a RPM you making the motor work harder and get worst MPG , and kills you'r useable Power band As most of us know that have the 3.7 we need to take every advantge we can to make the 3.7 work the best in these 4900 LB trucks.
Oh yea what I been finding out with a little more RPM"s we mite get better MPG the motor not working as hard keeping us at speed and getting to speed, And we can towstuff more easyer on top of that.

we have an '06 commander 4x4 (full time) with the 3.7 and get 15.5-16 in town and 22 on the highway so you should be getting better than 10. i drive it about as easy as can be so most won't see the same #s that i get but you shouldn't be that far off. it went up about 2 mpg at 3000 miles.
my '07 ram 1500 QC 4x4 4.7 gets about 13.5-14 in town. haven't had it on the highway yet but i only have 1300 miles on it so i look for it to get better.

You'r V-6 will get better MPG trust me But it takes a long time to break in most of us that aslo made the mistake of getting the 3.7 will tell you the same keep on driving it MPG gets better in time more miles you put on it.
I gotten 23 MPG out of my 2006 Q-Cab but only once driving at 70 MPH no A/C 289 mile HWY round trip. normal MPG 17.9.
Yea Chrysler Lied about MPG Ha Ha, Yes the truck can get good MPG only if every thing around you is just right.

They didn't lie about the MPG. They are following the law as the EPA sees it. They use calculations that was put in place during the late 70's for today's MPG. If you drive 45mph you too will get the sticker MPG. They do not post the MPG at current highway speeds. But the new laws coming into effect will require them to update the way they figure MPG.

Yea, I think you got something going on there for a dealer to check out.I have a QC 4x4 Hemi with suspension lift, 35" tires, grille & brush guards, winch, etc., not to mention a toolbox that always has at least 300lbs. of off-road recovery stuff, welding equipment, mig welder, tools, jumpstarter, etc. in it.
Bottom line is I HAVE A HEAVY TRUCK. I also have cat-back exhaust, CAI & LT Headers, which means I drive heavy footed (I like to hear it). Even so, I get 13.0 - 13.5 around town and 15.5 - 16on the highway.
Being underpowered hurts you, but not that bad. Take it to another dealer...
