I appreciate your opinion. I've been doing a lot of research on this matter. From a business standpoint, It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever to take it to a dealership. As I stated in my previous post:

It's $850+ for just the PCM if I get it thru the dealership.

That figure does NOT include any labor charges or towing to the facility.

I can get the same type of reman PCM from a Non-dealership place for a fraction of the dealership price, install it myself and save a bunch of money.

In addition, I was also able to find & purchase on ebay the service manuals for my truck. These are the SAME manuals that they use at the dealerships.

Well if your so made up on your decision then do it, all the dealer is probably going to do is connect a starscan to the car if it don't read anything they will probably blame the computer. Also the service manuals you can get for free. Btw its supposedly illegal to have it, but we all do.

You don't have have to bring in the truck in order to test/repair/replace PCM's:

There are plenty of other links like the above that I've found.
May be true but they may be able to find out something else that is wrong. I had the same attitude and ordered a reconditioned computer from them (autocomputerexchange). I had to send the first one back right away due to bad programming. Now I think the one I have had in for less than a year is acting up...not sure though. They are not new computers and only have a 6 month free exchange and after that the cost is prorated. The computers are cores that are opened up and fixed then put back together. I believe that a dealer computer would be new.

No, as i posted earlier, the PCM from the dealership would be a Remanufactured one with a 1 year warranty.

I called over a half a dozen dealership parts depts here in the chicagoland & NW Indian area. They all say the same thing.

The cost from the dealership would be a little over $850.

I've found several non-dealership sources where I can get a remanufactured PCM for less than $200 all with a 1 year warranty.

Buying a Reman from a Non-dealer source (like the one listed in my previous post) & save 75%+ of what the dealership charges.
Sorry, missed that line...
