Default Black Exhaust Tips

Having a hard time finding some black tips. I am good with either 4 or 5", but I think 5 looks better coming out of the bumper cut outs. Really do not want to loose my resonators. So that is the task

4, preferably 5" black tips to go on a factory dual exhaust system.

So far I found these. VERY pricey, do not like the badge. Could drill it off but then I would have 4 holes. Also still not sold it will fit the factory pipes with the resonators. So post up your solutions. Not keen on painting a polished tip either.

I went with these. Based on measurements I will be able to cut the existing tips off 1-2" behind the ball joint of the stock tips and slide these on which will allow me to still adjust if needed with the ball joint. I really wanted 5" but had no luck finding something that would fit and still give me all the options of bolt on install, adjustment and keeping the resonators without paying the price of those AFE tips.

Please update once you get them and install.

I spent a fair amount of time looking for black tips and gave up.

Thanks.

It will be a few weeks before I put them back on. Getting Ceramic Pro put on the truck and want to leave the tips off so they can coat them.

1. The quality of these tips are great. They are coated outside and inside!
2. As you can see in the pics the depth of the tip is a few inches more than stock
3. The only downside was no drain holes in the bottom. Easy fix though. I put one at the back and front.

Removal, cut and reinstall should not take longer than an hour if you have a saw, add a little time if you are hacking manual.

These are the black tips you want if you have

1. Stock tailpipes.
2. Do not care/want/need 5" tips (your stock is 4" as are these).
3. Want to save $100 over the AFE tips or hate the idea of that AFE badge/holes if you remove.
4. Want a bolt on solution.

Bought mine from Summit but you can get them at any reseller for 75-80 each.

Finally have my truck back from getting Ceramic Pro. I put the tips on. Sorry about the garage pics, it is cold outside! Of course fitment is no different than stock, other than owners care a little more about alignment vs the factory. As for depth, that is up to you.

Look at that shine on the paint. I am very interested to see how this product (Ceramic Pro) helps to keep scratches down and how well it works in terms of keeping it clean/making it easier to clean.

Thanks for the pics.

Looks good, and the paint looks pretty darn good as well.

Found these on Car-Id Gibson rolled edge 2.25 inlet and 5.0 outlet

I just picked up a 2017 ignition orange, bolted in a flowmaster muffler so it sounds great but needs the black tips to go with the rest of the package!
