Going from 20's to 17's?

I have 35's off my old truck that I want to put on my 2010 sport but I have read that you can't put 17's on a sport? Fact or myth?
Need to know if I should give up on that dream and go buy new tires or try and make these ones work..

You can put 17s on there. In fact the SLT, TRX/Outdoorsman, and other models run 17s from the factory. What was your old truck? If it was a recent Dodge, then the bolt pattern should line up. As for the 35s, they might be a little large for an non-lifted truck. We tried getting 35s on my stock 20" rims, but they rubbed really bad, and that's even with a 2" lift in the front.

I have put 17s on mine also and have read on here where some with the 2" front level have run 35s on the 17" wheels with minimal rub. I guess it depends on offset and tire width.

They were on a Titan, I'm just using the tires not the rims.
And with a 2.5" leveling kit, fingers crossed they only rub a bit haha.
I'll go get some 17s then, thanks guys!
