Rust Proofing / Under Coating?
Who has or is planing on rust proofing and under coating their truck?
Does anybody have any opinions or suggestions on getting this done? I have leased my last vehicles so never considered it. |
i was going to do it tuesday when i was installing my exhaust but i didnt feel like it lol
i was going to use some black rust preventive spray paint on the drive train and the rear end. |
The Line-X dealer that did my bed does Rustproofing/Undercoating and they use a product called ValuGard.
ValuGard is endorsed by many of the auto manufactures including Chrysler. $450 to do the truck. That's with a $50 discount for having already done the spray in liner. I live in Michigan so the Winter/Salt is brutal. Will probably have it down but as always, I value your advice and opinions. |
yeah that would be the best bet to go with, but down here in FL where it snows like once every 1,000 years we dont have that problem.

Then again, I will probably drive down the beach, so I will have to worry. Switch, when you said "spraying the drivetrain", you didn't mean the driveshafts too did you? |

Iowa cars rust out worse then cars in Florida, IMO. |

I am coming to Florida in October and never coming back to Iowa. Hopefully, I won't see snow for a long, long time and will not have to worry about salt.

spraying a drive shaft 'could' make it out of balance and cause a nasty vibration.
