Default MDS and FUELSAVER (What Dodge don't tell you)

Just had my Dec 2 2009 Dodge RAM in again. To sum up, if you have a EZD version of the 5.7 Hemi the FUEL SAVER indication in the EVIC DO NOT correspond to MDS ON/OFF. THe cut over to the EZH version of the Hemi is the middle of Dec. The Performance TSB 18-019-09 (Flash) will give you the FUEL SAVER indication on your EVIC.
I have a DashDAQ II and a LED connected directly to my #4 solenoid and the two match but not to the FUEL SAVER indication in the EVIC. That is how I found out that the FUEL SAVER indication does not match.
The only time my MDS activates is between 80-30kph coming to a stop and around 60kph with least then 50 flbs of load. Believe me when I say that this is barely touching the gas. The EZH engine do work at 100 kph as long as there is least then 150flbs of load and the FUEL SAVER indication does match the MDS, again on the EZH engine only. In fact I suspect on the EZD version when you see the FUEL SAVER light on that is when on a EZH version the MDS would normally operate.
My dealer called the tech hot-line and they said the EZD version will not match. NICE A!
There is more to this then meet the eye.
I'm now thinking of contacting the BBB has Dodge said this is normal operation and it was designed that way. I phoned Customer Service and they confirmed the same thing. I said to the Customer Service REP that Dodge is misleading customers. Aperatly the engineer said that this is normal operational characteristics for the EZD HEMI. I'm NOT IMPRESSED.

If you don't believe me go to your dealer and get them to take you for a test drive using there STARSCAN diagnostic tool and monitor the MDS parameters and see for yourself. Let me know what you think.

Can CJDTAUTOTECH comment on this fact?

you got me curious here since I have a 12/08 build date. I also have the invoice and build sheet and found the engine sales code on the invoice - have the EZH. Never had a reflash yet but MDS kicks on anytime you are easy on the gas on flat runs as well as all times you are slowing down. On turnpike traveling you can do 80mph and the MDS still comes on ( fuel saver light as well as you can feel it go in and out of MDS mode. )

Engine:5.7-Liter V8 HEMI(R) MDS VCT Engine = EZD
Engine:5.7-Liter V8 HEMI(R) MDS VVT Engine = EZH

I think this is correct if I remember right, please if it is not correct someone correct it.

Mine is an earlier build EZD hemi w/SLT packge. I had the TSB 18-019-09 flash done. It did not give me the fuel saver light. I have noticed an improvement in mpg, especially in town driving.

I have the vct and I had the flash and well who really knows if the flash was done properly since it took them 7 hours at one dealer to try to get my uconnect working, next day 7 more hours at the next dealer but they got it working so was my flash that was done at the other place...was it really done right? How can I tell is there someplace or someway the engine or evic can tell me what tsb have been done successfully?

Not correct, my EZH is listed a VCT. At least window sticker, invoice and build sheet says so..
