How long should it take to get parts, RER

I ordered a whole package for my Ram at the dealer. They did hook me up on price installed..

RER NAV, Microphone for blue tooth, iPod connect cable and rear camera.

Every time I have ordered parts they come in a day, 2 max.

Parts have been ordered since 10/5/09. Dealer said not in yet and its "vendor direct"...

is this true? I am just anxious!!

I hoping there is not a problem I am not being told about.....

Which radio are you upgrading from? RES (6-disc basic radio) or REN (touchscreen with 30GB hardrive)? How much did you pay for all that installed? I have a buddy who just bought a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport with the basic RES and he wants to do what you're doing with the factory cam as well. Thanks.

im interested in hearing how much you paid as well. I paid about 1600 for a new RER, Lockpick device, Ipod cable, mic, a/v in/out harness. it took me about 30 minutes to install the unit. i took a little more time running the mic and the ipod cable where i wanted them but only about 20-30 more minutes getting everything perfect.

I ran my mic out the the corner or the RAM sign under all the switches, I just used a small round file and made enough room for the wire and the part is removable so you can put the wire thru and the mic sits right there and works well.
Where did you put you lockpick? behind the dash below the radio?

well as of now, its under the center console because the wires were soo long. its sitting on the carpet under the cup holders and a/c controls. in that general region. as for the mic, i routed it along the windshield and wedged it between the headliner and windshield right above the rear view mirror. i was originally sent a mic that just looked like a piece of wire that ended. basically it was just a mic on the tip of the wire that plugged into the back of the radio. it was only about 3 ft long as well. i called them back and got them to send me the mic that was pictured in their advertisements. and since they have never returned my calls or emails about some problems ive been having, i decided not to return the first mic i was sent.

for the radio, mic, iPod connector and back up camera installed was 2360.XX

with tax out the door...

I figured the breakdown was :

radio 1500
camera 260
ipod cable 80.00
mic 64.00..

labor about 200 to 300 plus tax

came to about 2360

Not bad considering I went to two stereo shops and for the same NON OEM stuff was near 2000.00.. I like OEM stuff

Labor should be about 3 to 4 hours total at 70.00 an hour for either 210 or 280... worth it for me with the warranty!

i wish i lived where u lived. $70 an hour in the shop was long gone like 5 years ago where im from. the shops around here are charging $120 an hour for labor. if i were you i would get a 6 pack of beer, an hour of your time, and knock it out yourself. then you will save $300 that you could be putting into your truck in another place. like maybe a tonneau. Hell, i feel good about my baby just gassing it up with a full tank.

I hear ya...I usuallly do it...

two big reasons I am having the dealer do it:

1. ALOT of money, I will have a 3/36 warranty on this stuff..and dealer can mess with any problems that arise during install/star scanning issues...
2. I had knee surgery this morning.. :)

I think the appointment will be next Tuesday or so.. I am going to try to get a hold of the tech to slip him a 20 or something to plug my All-Gig in.... My local stereo shop said they would throw in the All-gig when they throw in my overhead monitor for a 40 bucks.. (labor to pull out radio and reinstall)

I was hoping to have the all-gig installed and have a video RCA cable rolled up under the dash waiting for the rear monitor I have coming...

looks OEM.. that is why I like it...
