rpm's fluctuate while idling

Does anyone elses truck idle fluctuate between 500 and 600 rmp's?? Is this normal or should I take it in to have looked at?

Pedro Dog Jan 5, 2011 07:42 PM

My '09 hemi does it. I've tried everything but I can't control it. High current draw, AC, nothing affects it. It doesn't bother me, except sometimes I think the 600 RPM is smoother but most of the time if I don't look at the tach, I can't tell. The truck has 18,000 miles and has done it from day one.

Is your defrost or AC on?

I always have my climate control set to auto, so I guess my defrost could be on...I'll check tomorrow with climate control off and see if it keeps happening...doesn't really bother me..and as Pedro Dog said, unless I look at it, I don't even notice it..
