I just had mine replaced on my 09 Warranty. It's not so much the salt, it's the brake dust that starts the process and its not the outer lip it was in the corners near the center where the 5 spokes meet each other and the upper corners also, they solved the outer lip problem by using stickon balancing weights on the inside of the rim. So they are gonna have to come up with something cuz even though they replaced them yesterday under warranty I bought a set of steelies with winter tires and get them on Monday since winter tires are out of stock anyway 1200 bucks and if this happens again and these rims will only be on for like 4 days and then they are coming off and getting washed and then I will take them in the garage, heat it up and figure out what to wax or protect them with, I wonder about clear coat?
