Coolant leak/loss?
I have a 2003 dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi. Yesterday while driving I noticed the sweet smell of coolant and when I stopped to look I had lost just about all of my coolant. I checked for leaks and I checked the pressure. there is nothing. It looks like the coolant blew out of the radiator cap. Could I have a bad water-pump or head gasket. I cant afford to take it in. and have it looked at. what is my next step. this truck is my daily and my only vehicle

Not sure how hard it is to see (been too long ago now), but at the 6 o'clock position on the water pump, at the edge of the pulley, there is a core plug (some people call them freeze plugs). This is the weep reservoir. If the water pump is leaking there will be a stream of gooey stuff all over the core plug where it has come out of the weep hole. How many miles are on your truck? These pumps have a good life span generally.
