Default 2012 ram Trailer brake controller wiring

I recently purchased a 2012 ram which I am trying to wire a brake box in. Someone cut the end off the hardness and I don't know what each wire means. There is a white with purple stripe, yellow with red stripe, green with black and a black. Any help would be great.

thanks

What kind of controller? If it is a techonsha then just buy the direct fit harness for $15 and plug it all together Part# 3021-P

If it is not a techonsha, then toss it in the garbage and buy a prodigy

they cut the harness on the truck so a direct fit harness wont work.

I don't think that you can cut the harness on the truck - the plug for the harness is built in near the column. (at least on an 09) What they cut was the plug in accessory harness. If you look at the opposite end of what you have left, you will find it plugged in under the dash. Remove it and replace it. Or at a minimum removing it will make it easier to splice into your controller side harness.

OK - Big If here. IF the 2012 is wired the same as the 2009 I've got the wiring diagrams for an 09. The colors seem to match up for the most part and could be verified with a multimeter

BK/DG (Black/Dark Green Stripe) - Ground
DG (Dark Green) - B+ (Power to trailer Brakes)
WT (White) - Brake light switch signal (09 is just white - no stripe)
YL/RD (Yellow/Red Stripe) Bat + through fuse J09 (Supply side power)
