Factory back-up camera video display is messed up
Suddenly my factory back-up camera has a messed up video display. Most of the time it shows the video but is 'rolling' like an old TV with poorly tuned rabbit ears. Sometimes when I put it in reverse the video comes up fine, mostly it doesn't.
Took apart the connections inside the tailgate and at the tailgate to truck plugs. Didn't change anything. Is my camera going to hell? Is is a problem elsewhere? Thanks, Rob |
I have the same problem but its not very frequent. It seems to happen after washing the truck. I just figured that the connectors were getting wet and causing some sort of interference/short. I haven't looked at it closely as it doesn't happen that often.

Well, three days of it working OK now. I'm going to guess there was moisture somewhere, though it wasn't in the connectors I took apart inside the tailgate or where the wires go under the box. Either connectors somewhere else under the vehicle or inside the camera module itself, apparently.

There is a download for this. Make sure your updated.

A download? As in a MyGIG radio firmware update? I think I'm at the latest version my 430/RBZ 2010 radio can accept. Or do you mean something else?

Sorry to threadjack. Is there a dodge site we can plug our radios information into to see if we have the latest firmware? Wondering if we can update via usb? Just asking because I have had a few issues with my new my gig upgraded radio and am wondering if it needs an update.

Sounds not firmware update if it works perfectly before. Could be moist or rust that cause shortage and intermittent.

That's what I suspect. It has been working fine since it fixed itself. Must have been moisture somewhere.
