TPMS light on. Correct tire pressure displayed on all tires. No low pressure warning.

My TPMS light came on a few weeks ago on my 2011 Ram. It starts off flashing then goes solid. All of the tire pressures read correctly both on the dash and with a pressure gauge. The tire pressure display does not flash or indicate any tire pressures are low. The spare tire does not have a sensor, but is inflated to the correct pressure. All sensors have been tested and work correctly according to Firestone. There are no codes indicating an issue. I have lowered the air pressure in one of the tires to set off the low pressure warning. The system worked properly and indicated the low pressure by flashing the read out for the low tire. When the tire was returned to normal pressure, the dash displayed the correct pressure and stopped indicating the low pressure, however the TPMS light is still on. Any ideas???

Go figure, three days after posting this the light went out.

I got the same problem kind of problem here. Basically brand new TPMS installed and the light is out for alittle bit then whammo comes on.

All the pressures display fine.

Today though on the way to work one pressure went blank. Took to the dealership (working TPMS was part of the sale agreement since the light was on, glad I had them put that down) and they said it wasn't programmed right. Light was out, drove home and as soon as I got home it came on.

Went ahead and drove around awhile and still on. But all sensors reporting in fine.

Any ideas?

Hi Cainlord,
I’m sorry to hear about your concern with the TPMS light. Please let me know if you would like me to follow-up with your certified dealer for more information. Feel free to send me your VIN and contact information and I can look into it further.

thank you Anna! Right now they think the sensors they put on are not correct and just like before they reset it, and the light came on again.

Mind you my issue though is that they installed Fuel Havoc wheels and sold the vehicle with them, so not full on factory wheels. Not sure if you can help with that. So far though they are looking into it and trying things.

Took it to the dealership again, I will say I am getting to know the courtesy drivers well since I have had to go so much. The portion of the main dealership when I checked the light again and it was still not fixed ran over to the other side of the dealership where I bought the vehicle and basically said I needed to work with them as they had tried everything they could think of, and that even though they were "one family" it was on them to get it fixed.

I give them credit that they tried, however, still funny that it wasn't "one family" anymore and that I had to go there to talk to the manager there.

So, I went and spoke with the Manager and they want to take the vehicle to an external shop to see what they could find out so that is scheduled for tomorrow.

The part I personally don't get though is that they were asking me if they checked this and checked that, to me I guess why wouldn't you just ask the guys who actually did the checking. I feel at times I have done more research into the issue than I really should have had to do.

In short though I think they are going to:

- Confirm that its not the spare tire causing the issue
- Confirm its not a sensor module problem
- Put on factory style wheels and tires, have them sync up, and see what we find by me driving it around for awhile.

To be honest I am fine with this option to confirm its not the sensors and then its just one of those things I guess with the wheels they installed.

So the other shop said they fixed the issue that they had to go and set each TPMS sensor manually to the system. I thought this had been done before by the dealer but they said they (the dealer) did it wrong. They said they drove the vehicle for a bit and no issues with the sensor light coming on.

I take it to a few places after I get the truck, it works fine. Drive home and then go to head out and guess what decided to turn back on again?

So, took it back to the dealer. They are going to swap the wheels with stock wheels so we can confirm that its the wheels. So will see what happens.

Considering it seems to "work" for a bit then whammo no more makes you wonder.

well with it all said and done they determined its the wheels. They put on some of the 20 inch factory wheels and no TPMS issues. So as it sits I have decided I like the Fuel hostage wheels that I am going to just deal with the light turning on.
